The NT Government is staging a lifting of restrictions. As of 15 May 2020 (Stage 2) we are running our one hour sunset camel tour for Alice Springs residents. We have implemented measures to ensure your safety and security.
Although we could run public tours, we’re offering a sunset ‘private’ tour. This means that the person booking the tour decides who makes up the group rather than us combining groups of strangers in a public tour.
In order for a private tour to depart we require a minimum group booking of 3 adults or 2 adults along with 2 kids. You can invite up to 10 persons on your group’s one hour sunset tour.
When we return from the camel ride we offer you light refreshments and an opportunity to relax with your private group at our Camel Lounge. It’s a perfect combination to escape the day-to-day.
Each adult costs $89 and each child cost $49 (aged 3-14 years); we don’t charge kids under 3 years.
Previously a private camel tour cost $1200 so we’re offering special value for money to our Alice Springs community.
At the moment we are not providing a transfer service; you’ll have to drive yourself to be at Pyndan Camel Tracks by 4:45pm.
As conditions apply to tour numbers, we are taking bookings only by phone; Call Marcus on 0416 170 164. Our private sunset tours operate Wednesday to Sunday until further notice.

COVID-19 Safety Plan
We’ve prepared a COVID-19 Safety Plan that demonstrates how we meet our requirements around the key principles of physical distancing and hygiene practices.
We’ve completed the online COVID-19 Safety Plan checklist to demonstrate how we meet the required physical distancing and hygiene. These are available for your perusal when you join us for a camel tour.
Our sunset tour works well with the Stage 2 restricted time limit of 2 hours or less. The camel ride is one hour combined with light refreshments keeps your tour at visit to Pyndan Camel Tracks less than 2 hours.
Our venue layout has been adjusted to accommodate different sized groups and to ensure physical distancing principles can be followed.
The safety of our community in the Northern Territory concerns Pyndan Camel Tracks. We acknowledge the health vulnerability of many Central Australians and the catastrophic effect that Coronavirus could unleash on remote Aboriginal communities. We will not put people’s health at risk.
