How to locate Pyndan Camel Tracks
If you have your own vehicle, it's easy to find Pyndan Camel Tracks. We're at 21259 Jane Rd, about 17 kilometres south west of Alice Springs. To get there, drive south on the Stuart Highway as if heading to the airport or Adelaide. Go through Heavitree Gap and, after 3 kilometres, turn right into Ilpara Road. It's the second street on your right after the Gap and adjacent to Oldtimers Village on your left. Drive 10 kilometres and, just after Temple Bar Caravan Park and Wanngardi Park on the left, turn right into Jane Rd. Look for the Pyndan Camel Tracks sign on the corner of Ilparpa and Jane Rds. We're the second driveway on the left. Look for the metal camel and signs! It should take you about 20 minutes from town. Leave town approximately half an hour before your ride’s departure.

Don't worry if you don't have your own transport. We'll transfer you to and from your accommodation for free.

What to bring?
Bring a camera and a water bottle if you want.

What to wear?
Wear comfy clothes. The Central Australian sun can burn any time of year, so put on a sun hat, sunglasses and rub on sunscreen. A long sleeved shirt is great for keeping off the sun.

You'd don't get dusty like the old outback cameleers!

Pyndan Camel Tracks cancellation policy 2010

If you have booked a tour and have to cancel, the following cancellation policy applies:
• More than 48 hours prior to departure – Full Refund
• 48–24 hours prior to tour departure – 50% Fee applies
• 24 hours or less prior to tour departure – 100% fee applies

If a situation beyond the control of Pyndan Camel Tracks arises, and Pyndan Camel Tracks have to cancel the tour, then a 100% refund applies. Don't worry! Cancellations are very rare. Alice Springs is in a desert environment and the average annual rainfall is only around 200mm, if we get that! When it does rain or has been raining recently we'd have to cancel for safety reasons. Wet weather makes the track slippery and we value your comfort and the safety and nerves of our gentle camels—our ships of the desert. If we had to cancel, we will endeavour to contact you through your hotel or supplied contact number. Hopefully we could arrange another time for you to come on our scenic rides, or a special visit to pat our gentle giants.

We reserve the right to alter the times of tours or cancel tours without notice. Sorry! (This has only happened once, but we have to let you know.) Camels are hardy desert creatures but on rare occasions one of our hard workers can get sick. We usually have a spare camel, however, in case we don’t or the others are still in training, we want to make sure that your safety is paramount. Marcus has been training camels for 28 years and his camels are great!

RIDE AT OWN RISK Please be advised that you will be riding the camels at your own risk. Camels are usually placid animals, but like all animals they can sometimes be unpredictable. While every reasonable precaution will be taken to prevent accident and injury, the operator and owner will not be responsible for any accident or injury, however arising which may happen to any person in charge of, in association with, or in contact with any camels irrespective of the extent of injury, damage or loss sustained. This condition of contract may be pleaded by the operator and owner as a bar to any action claim proceeding for breach of contract, negligence or any other liability sustaining such injury, damage or loss.
